Where They Started

Our client runs shore excursions out of Alaska. Before Urban Umbrella got involved, their website was outdated and unclear. They had an Instagram page. They were running Google Ads -- spending $1,500 to $2,000 a month and generating roughly $500 in return. The vast majority of bookings came through third-party platforms that take a commission on every transaction.

What We Did

The website came first. We rebuilt it from the ground up with one goal -- get a visitor to book. Once live we built their Facebook page from scratch, then launched paid campaigns with a $1,000 monthly budget split between Google and Meta. Within six weeks Meta was significantly outperforming Google. We shifted to $750 on Meta and $250 on Google. We also sent an email campaign to 150 to 200 previous customers.

What Happened

Owned channel revenue went from $27,000 for an entire prior season to over $125,000 in the first five months of 2026. That is over 300% growth. Total business revenue grew from $385,000 to over $682,000 during the same period. A 77% increase. While the season is still ramping up.

The operator did not change. The experience did not change. The marketing infrastructure finally matched what they had been delivering on the water for years.

That is what Urban Umbrella does.
